Join us for Science on Tap, Thursday, April 2nd at 6:30pm in the Cellar at the FLBC Pubhouse. Montana filmmakers Jordan & Logan Lefler will share the behind-the-scenes story of creating Journey to the Sun.
Their documentary, premiering in June, explores the history and impact of Going-to-the-Sun Road. From Indigenous presence before the park, to engineering debates that shaped the route, to modern plow crews who open the road each spring… the film explores how access, preservation, and responsiblity intersect. Behind-the-scenes footage and a new film trailer will be presented showing how the brothers captured this story inside one of the country’s most precious landscapes.
Come learn about the wildlife in your backyard! Tucked between the Bob Marshall and Mission Mountains Wilderness, the Swan Valley is a wild and special landscape. Sara and Luke will share the best of SVC’s trail camera footage, along with stories and information about the wildlife captured in these videos, in celebration of this amazing place, and the wild inhabitants we live alongside but rarely see.
Tickets are $5 a person, and we recommend purchasing them in advance.
Please remember if you are grabbing dinner before the presentation to come in plenty early as we get a bit of a dinner rush. If you want to grab dinner to-go to enjoy in the cellar, our bartender in the cellar will be able to take your to-go order to be delivered to you down there.

Science on Tap is an informal community gathering to discuss science around the lake, region, world… and sometimes beyond. We invite local scientists and researchers in our community to discuss and present their work and results in ways that are easy to understand and light on data and graphs. This is a fun, family-friendly event in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Bring your curiosity and enjoy yourself!
Brought to you by the Flathead Lakers, Flathead Lake Biological Station, and the FLBC Pubhouse.
