Investing in energy-efficient equipment can pay off!

Investing in energy-efficient equipment can pay off! Our unique geothermal system recently garnered FLBC a $72,000 incentive check from Flathead Electric. In cooperation with the City of Bigfork, Flathead Electric, Bonneville Power Administration, and the MT Department of Environmental Quality, we were able to design a system that allows us to borrow clean effluent (liquid waste)  from the nearby Bigfork Water and Sewer District. We use that to run several water furnace heat pumps. The energy savings provided by the system adds up to approximately 300,000 kilowatt hours on an annual basis, which translates to $18,000 per year in avoided energy costs.

Thank you Flathead Electric Cooperative, Inc. for partnering with us and featuring FLBC in your latest newsletter!
